Communication techniques and skills Course for health and allied
professions
1. The Main Aims
- To introduce the participants to the basic ideas of interpersonal
communication and to help them examine the ways in which they
communicate
- Examine behaviors that block communication and examine the skills
that lead to effective listening
- Introduce participants to the ideas and skills involved in reflective
listening
- Teach participants about assertiveness and how to become more
assertive in their communications with others
2. Out come
- Participants will know more about their strengths and weakness as
communicators
- Examine different models of communication
- Participants would be aware of what interferes with effective
communication and understand the importance eof attending skills
- Participants will learn the skills of reflective communication
- The participants will have examined the role of submissive, assertive
and aggressive behavior in communication
