Gaza Community Mental Health Programme honored Salah Abdel Shafi, the former Director General of GCMHP, and a number of staff from UNDP. The ceremony took place at Deir El-Balah Rehabilitation Center for Victims of Violence as part of a Ramadan breakfast gathering GCMHP Board of Directors and staff. The honoring was part of the opening ceremony of the center and to acknowledge the efforts of those who were responsible to make the establishment of the center a success

Mr. Hamam Beseso, Director of Administrative Affairs commenced the honoring ceremony by welcoming the guests and thanking everyone who contributed to the Center success. Dr. Eyad El-Sarraj thanked all those who diligently worked to establish the Rehabilitation Center. He specifically acknowledged the UNDP and Medan Construction Company as well as the efforts of Salah Abdel Shafi who worked hard to contribute to the establishment of the Center. Then, Mr. Salah Abdel Shafi, talked about his experience at GCMHP and how proud he was to be part of GCMHP and the success of the Rehabilitation Center. He also emphasized that he will do his best from his new position - Palestinian Ambassador in Sweden - to further contribute to the successes of GCMHP.

At the end of the ceremony, symbolic gifts were given to Salah Abdel Shafi, Basel Nasser, Rasheed Khoury, Saleh El-Hams, Mohamad Abu Mezed, and Medan Director.
