March 16, 2006 On the Third Anniversary of the Killing of Rachel Corrie, the American Peace Activist
"Glory to the Spirit of Rachel Corrie" Today marks the third anniversary of the killing of Rachel Corrie, who was killed by an Israeli soldier driving a bulldozer as she was trying to prevent him from demolishing a home of a Palestinian civilian in Rafah. Rachel was a member of the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), who came to Palestine to provide support and express solidarity with the Palestinian struggle against the Israeli occupation. In this day, we remember the extraordinary courage for the martyr Corrie, and how she sacrificed her soul for the sake of the just cause of Palestine. In this occasion, we salute the family and friends of Rachel Corrie, as well as her colleagues who worked with her in the ISM, for all they did in terms of media activities and solidarity with the Palestinians to uncover the ugly face of the Israeli occupation and its practices. The blood of Rachel Corrie, streamed on the land of Palestine, is mixing with the Palestinian blood in one fight against the occupation, oppression, and discrimination. The friends of Palestinian people worldwide are demanded today to intensify their efforts to support the Palestinian cause and to exert all possible efforts to confront the discrimination plans of the Israeli government, and especially work diligently to let the discrimination wall fall. This wall is aiming to endorse the occupation and confiscate more of the Palestinians land to Israel as well as halt the efforts to establish a viable Palestinian independent state. In this occasion we thank the Rebuilding Alliance in the USA for building for their generous contribution in re-building the home of NaserAllah family, which was demolished in Rafah. We hope that the re-building of this house is the beginning of building demolished homes in the Occupied Palestinian Terretories. Salute to the soul of the martyr Rachel and the souls of all the Martyrs of Palestine. Salute to all friends and supporters of the Palestinian people worldwide.
