GCMHP Condemns Intra-Palestinian Fighting and the State of Lawlessness and Calls for Supremacy of Law

On Sunday, October 2nd, clashes broke out between some members of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, and Palestinian Police, following a number of media attacks and mutual accusations of both parties over the past few days. As a result, violence spread in many areas in Gaza city resulting in the death of three people; including a police officer, and injuring over 50 civilians adjacent to the area of conflict.

All these incidents are taking place in a time where the Israeli Occupation intensifies its actions against the Palestinian people including, shelling, invasions, assassinations, and building the separation wall in the West Bank as well as closing the Rafah border crossing for over three weeks.

Gaza Community Mental Health Programme strongly condemns these actions of violence between the Palestinian people and calls all parties to respect the law and to stop all forms of military presence in the streets. All parties should abide by the law and order and defuse the tension and go back to dialogue and consider it the right and only mean to solve any Palestinian internal conflicts.

GCMHP strongly support the presence of single authority responsible for public security. We, also, call the Palestinian people and all the political factions to respect the PA police and abide by law and order, and to stop any irresponsible military actions that are against the interests of Palestinian people. We call upon the PA to strictly impose the law and deal with any violations in accordance with the law.

All Palestinian people and factions are now requested to listen to the voice of reason and act responsibly in the ways that serve the public interests of the Palestinian society.

Gaza Community Mental Health Programme.
