GCMHP Warns of the State of Chaos and Lawlessness in the Gaza Strip
GCMHP warns of the state of lawlessness and serious deterioration of the security situation that is taking place in the Gaza Strip, the last incident was the destruction of part of the Rafah border with Egypt and the violent clashes occurred between the Egyptian Patrol Police and Palestinian armed groups resulting in the killing of two Egyptians and injuring over 25 of them. As GCMHP condemns these events, it expresses condolences to the victims' families and to the people and government of Egypt, wishing the injured a fast healing. This irresponsible deterioration is a serious alarm for the state of instability in the political and social situation of the Palestinian community as a whole. It also pushes for more restrictions and humiliation that Palestinians are encountering, converting the Gaza Strip to a huge prison once again - after ending the Israeli control over Rafah border, the sole crossing for Palestinians from the Gaza Strip to the outside world. The Gaza Community Mental Health Programme warns of the ramifications of such events on the Palestinian Egyptian relations and calls upon the Palestinian authority to take its role in maintaining law and order in the whole Palestinian community. |
