"Gaza Community Mental Health Programme Appraises Hamas the Singularity of the
Declarations Regarding PA and Call for National Unity" Gaza Community Mental Health Programme welcomes the declarations of Ismael Hania, a political leader of Hamas, in a press conference in Gaza - just hours before the Israeli pullout was set to begin from Gaza Strip and Northern West Bank. In his speech, Mr. Hania announced that Hamas is willing to participate
with the Palestinian National Authority and other factions to form a joint national committee to
oversee Israel's Gaza pullout and to ensure that no one will benefit from the public properties, except the Palestinian people.
Mr. Hania emphasized the singleness of the Palestinian Authority in the Palestinian Territories, and the fact that Hamas weapons will be used for occupation resistance, not for internal conflicts and fighting. He also stressed that Hamas is keen on national dialogue and unity and preserving the Palestinian blood, and will work hard to protect and maintain such unity.
Gaza Community Mental Health Programme values the Hamas's declarations of adopting the democratic approach of participation in the political activities through decent and free elections. GCMHP considers such announcements representing a high level of national responsibility and commitment from Hamas movement. It also stresses that this is the positive national direction for dealing with all Palestinian political affairs, especially in the difficult circumstances that Palestinian people live in, which pose a difficult examination that requires unification of all efforts to make the experience of Gaza liberation a successful one.
