Dr. Ahmad Abu Tawahina, GCMHP Director General, and a number of the Programme’s staff, met with a delegation from The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation that visited the Program in …………… The delegation included Mr. Hansyourg Ambul, Director of Middle East and North Africa in SDC; Khawan Karlo, Director of Palestine Program; Antwan Laham, Former Director of Palestine Programme; Mario Karera, Director of SDC in Jerusalem; Mazen Shaqoura, Director of SDC in Gaza.

Welcoming the Delegation, Dr. Abu Twahian introduced the Program, its activities in the field of community mental health as well as the development of GCMHP since its establishment. Also, Dr. Abu Tawahina talked about the projects and activities that GCMHP implements in regard to offering therapy, training, raising awareness, capacity building and scientific research.

Furthermore, Dr. Abu Twahian explained the impacts of the current situation on the mental health of the Palestinian people who suffer from occupation practices, siege, internal fighting and lawlessness. He added that GCMHP has a great contribution in alleviating the impacts of such conditions. At the end, the two sides discussed their views in the future of Gaza Strip, and the predicted scenarios under the current circumstances and Israeli occupation policies.
