December15th, 2007 GCMHP conducts a Workshop on Professional Burnout In cooperation with Ministry of Education, GCMHP's Gaza Community Center conducted a workshop on "Professional Burnout, its symptoms, causes, and preventive measures " . The workshop took place in Khalifa Ben Zayed school, in Beit Lahia. The teaching staff of the school attended the workshop. In this regard, Hassan Zyada, psychologist, talked about the professional burnout, its symptoms on the emotional and behavioral levels including: carelessness, feeling of alienation, loneliness, anxiety and exhaustion. Further, he exhibits the causes of professional burnout such as neurosis, high expectations, lack of flexibility and high sensitivity. In addition, Rawya Hamam, Community Mental Health Worker, talked about GCMHP's activities including: school mediation program and psychodrama. In term, the teachers expressed their satisfaction of the outcomes of the school mediation program that included progress in students' achievement, decreased the oral and physical assaults among students. |
