In response to the Bloody Incidents in Gaza Strip, GCMHP Launches a Crisis Intervention Plan

Due to the internal disputes and factional fighting that occurred recently in Gaza Strip and resulted in killing and injuring many as well as causing mental harms among the civilians, GCMHP initiated a crisis intervention plan. This plan aims to decrease the negative mental impacts that resulted from exposure to such incidents.

In this regard, 36 specialized professionals of GCMHP's Community Centers and Women Empowerment Project were assigned to participate in the plan to alleviate the trauma mental impacts among the Palestinian civilians through offering free psychological counseling and therapy for the needy. The intervention will be through home visits for families of killed and injured victims of incidents and visiting hospitals and areas near security forces' headquarters where clashes took place. In addition, the professionals will pay visits for summer camps to conduct counseling intervention for children.

Moreover, GCMHP has activated the designated free phone number 1800222333 for receiving calls from citizens who need psychological intervention, and for those who couldn’t reach the Community Centers.
