Fatma came to the clinic complaining of a 2-months history of being very afraid and continuous thinking about death. Fatma's complains started after one attack of bombardment on Gaza. The symptoms especially intensify during her menstrual period. In addition, she started to experience insomnia, loss of appetite, and isolation. Despite all this it was the patient's brother who asked for consultation.

Diagnosis: At time of visit: Adjustment disorder with depressed mood

Management: Antidepressant and anxiolytic drugs to overcome the vegetative symptoms. Psycho-education, cognitive therapy and family counseling.

Follow up: Fatma did well with the cognitive therapy. She started to comprehend the incident as something that happened in the past. Medication helped her to overcome the insomnia and was stopped after 2 weeks.
