My concerns about my own health situation faded away while following the devastating news from Beit Hanoun. The frightening ghost of death and destruction is still looming in our skies threatening with more loss of life and loss of hope.

It is more urgent now than any time for all those who still truly believe in peace -Palestinians, Israelis and all friends all over the world- to unite their efforts in order to give reconciliation and peace a chance.

Israeli war machine of the occupation must be stopped and also its hegemony over Israeli politics. Israeli political leadership must only see the security of their people in strategic peace with Palestinians, not through the might of killing and death, not through giving in to the powerful military machine and by giving in to the American administration.

Paralysis of unifying vision and strategy on the Palestinian side must stop. Palestinians should not be giving any more pretext and excuses for the Israeli mighty military machine through launching feeble toy like rockets. National resistance is much more visionary and strategic than giving in to market rockets and smuggling arms for profit. Hamas is an essential part of the political map and should declare its readiness to rise to the responsibilities of not only making internal reforms but more importantly, making peace with Israel. Fatah and Hamas should immediately support the leadership of President Abbas who can help the nation and the region because of his unique stature, position and respect which is based on his strategic vision of peace making.

It is time for action. Therefore I call upon all peace activists to grasp whatever is left of any peace chance and reactivate it. Human life is so precious and it is our divine duty to protect.
