GCMHP Held a Graduation Ceremony for Post Graduate Diploma Graduates

Gaza Community Mental Health Programme held a graduation ceremony for 40 Community Mental Health post graduate diploma graduates of GCMHP. The ceremony was attended by a number of academics, professionals, researchers and organizations as well as relatives of the graduates. Mr. Husam El-Nonuno, Director of Public Relations Department, chaired the graduation ceremony and welcomed the audience. Dr. Abdel Hamid Afana talked about the Programme of Post Graduate Diploma that is offered in cooperation with seven recognized local and international universities. Dr. Kamaleen Shaeth, the president of the Islamic University, expressed that GCMHP and the Islamic University should be proud of their contribution to development of human resources in the Palestinian community. Dr. Ahmad Abu Tawahina, expressed the need for the graduates in mental health as it is important to meet the great need in this area as a result of the deteriorating mental health of the Palestinian people. Dr. Mahmoud Abu Daf, talked about the joint cooperation between GCMHP and the Islamic University and the importance of enhancing this relationship. Dr. Ryad El-Zanounn, congratulated the graduates and hoped for a good career for them. Dr. Yaser Abu Jamee', representing trainers, talked about the skills of the new graduates and their high qualification to serve the Palestinian community. At the End, Samah Abu Sedo, representing the graduates, thanked GCMHP and the Islamic University for their great efforts in giving the opportunity for the students to advance in their careers and build their capacities in serving the Palestinian people in the area of mental health. Dr. Abdel Hamid Afana, Head of ETD, Dr. Eyad El Sarraj, Head of the Board of Directors, Dr. Mohamed Asqoul, Head of the Education Department at the Gaza Islamic University, and Dr. Jan Ter Laak, member of the Diploma Academic Board in Netherlands, made speeches and welcomed the graduates, presenting them with their certificates.
