Our Vision

A Palestinian society that respects human rights and where people live in dignity, free of oppression and feel that their well-being is promoted.

Our Mission

One of GCMHP's priorities is to train as many professionals in psychiatry, psychology, sociology, and nursing as possible to form a capable group to provide mental health services for Palestinian society. Currently, and for the first time in Palestine and the region, a two-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Community Mental Health is now being offered in coordination with the Islamic University of Gaza and with the participation of seven international universities. The Diploma project aims to educate groups of mental health professionals and give them practical training opportunities in order for them to become qualified community mental health professionals. The Programme views this Diploma project as the first step towards establishing an Arab Institute for Community Mental Health Sciences that will be the first of its kind in the Arab Middle East, and will be a center of education, research, and exchange.

Our Goals

To build the capacity and skills of GCMHP professionals through comprehensive and intensive training sessions.

To raise public awareness of issues regarding mental health and human rights.

To train individuals and teams of other local organizations in the area of community mental health.
To establish a community mental health and human rights institute, to be a symbol of training and education in the Middle East.
We believe in a comprehensive view of human rights, as such, the concept of human rights was integrated into the curricula of all training courses.

Our Strategy

To
develop the mental well-being of Palestinian community through working with three major target groups: children, women, and victims of organized violence.
