GCMHP has hold a meeting for the general assembly in the headquarter hall in the Programme. The meeting was attended by number of the working staff in the Programme. Throughout the meeting, the annual reports of the Programme were discussed. In this regard, Dr. Ahmad Abu Tawahina, deputy director general, presented analytical presentation of the narrative report which included the Programme's and all its departments' general activities in 2006 in the field of children, women, and human rights, as well as capacity building, lobbying and advocacy, and scientific research and training.
As the discussion opened, many suggestions and comments were proposed concerning the report form, with focusing on the necessity of connecting the Programme with the work's plans, showing the percentage of achieving goals, identifying the causes of problems and obstacles that hinder some goals. Furthermore, the assembly discussed the work on reformulating thinking and self expression in the field of mental health in Palestine. They asserted on the necessity of starting to prepare the thoughts of the 2008-2010 strategic plan, as well as forming a work group to launch such activity as soon as possible that can benefit the GCMHP's general assembly experience in this concern. In term, Mr. Yousef Al-Ghazaly, GCMHP financial director, presented analytical presentation on the 2006 financial report of the Programme, as well as the financial data concerning the donations, incomings, and expenses. He also mentioned some notes of the Accounting and Auditing Company. The participants recommended the GCMHP's board of director to take into consideration the importance of increasing the financial income of the Programme in order to cover more percentage of the expences through the Programme's own income to decrease the dependence on the external finance. At the end, the assembly agreed upon continuing the work with "Deliot Watach- Saba" Auditing Company to proceed auditing for GCMHP in 2007. Gaza Community Mental Health Programme |
